We planned our yatra/trip in December 2014 and from then onwards, Cholendra nurtured our dreams into reality. Nepal earthquake, road closures- no problem! Cholendra always had solutions and made arrangements to fulfil our yatra requirement. Our family of 12 (ranging from the ages of 38 to 72) were taken care of like royalty. Yummy meals are freshly prepared and served that made us feel at home. I would recommend anyone who wants to experience this wonderful spiritual journey to trust Cholendra and his team/ expertise to make your plans a reality.

Best guide ever!
Our Gosainkunda trekking took place in April this year. Before the trip I was a bit worried how it would turn out since I was an inexperienced trekker and it was our first guided tour with the Himalayan Joy team.
During this trip I realised I couldn't have made a better choice of guide. From the start Cholendra and his team were friendly and easygoing which put all of us at ease. But came the first day of our trekking when the earthquake struck. Though in times of a great disaster, it didn't stop them from taking care of us. During our descent, there were many times I slipped on the rocky path and I was at a very slow pace. Cholen held on to my hand so that I did not fall from over 2,000km of height. Landslides were almost everywhere but owing to his good judgement, we managed to avoid getting hit by rocks and made our way down safely to the relief camp. Later we got news that many houses from his village was greatly damaged but be that as it may, he stayed with us and ensured we had access to shelter, food, water and blanket. I was able to get in touch with my family through his phone. This exemplified the level of professionalism and empathy in their work. We simply could not say enough our appreciation. With this, I'll definitely recommend Himalayan Joy to my friends.

Himalayan Joy Adventure is truly outstanding! I have been to many tours around the globe and I can attest that this tour provides one of the best services available on the planet.
We went to trek the Gosaikunda lake on April, 2015. From day one, Cholendra has been an amazing guide. First of all he is very knowledgeable. In the trekking business he is one of the most experienced guides available so you know you are in good hands.
He is also extremely honest and selfless. It was really sad that, on April 25th, halfway through our trek, we were caught in the midst of the devastating earthquake. Due to the earthquake we had to stay in refugee camps up in the mountains for three nights. During that period, Choledra took very good care of us. He prioritized the camping spots for us, helped us look for food and water(even cooked some tasty food for us), find local rescue helicopters, and sacrificed many things to look after our needs in the camp. The days in the camp was "no longer part of the tour", but he still took care of us more than he took care of himself. When you have that kind of treatment in crisis situation, you know you will be served well in normal occasions. Cholendra met me as a tour guide, but right now he is my lifelong friend. I am definitely seeing him again on my next visit to Nepal.

I trust my life with Cholendra
This is my first ever review on tripadvisor and many things has compelled me to write for Cholendra. First and foremost, he is an excellent trekking guide. We are unfortunate to have our trip interrupted by the devastating earthquake, where many people are gravely injured/hurt. Cholendra took care of our group and made us his priority. He made sure that we are safe, have enough food and got shelter to sleep under. We couldn't ask for more. Even at the midst of the deadliest disaster in Nepal, he went out of his way to cook us a meal so that we could have a taste of Nepal's different cuisines. He also went out of his way to help other people. With such a selfless guide, you can be sure that you are safe no matter where you go.

First trekking in Nepal
My first trekking in Nepal was organised from the Himalayan Joy Adventure. The team was very professional and totally lovely. He recomanded me to do the Tamang Heritage Trail and the Langtang Valley. It was an amazing experience in the tamang culture and in the high montain altitude. My guide was Rajendra. He take care all the time for my best confort and safety and always with a smile. It was great time with him and he is now a friend.

Bucket list no.4 EBC trip
From the moment I agreed to join the EBC trip, I was looking forward to making one of the item in my 'Bucket List' to be one of the most memorable trip. More significant was that I'm going to be doing with my best buddies. My expectations were high. From the moment we arrived till the day we departed from Nepal, Himalayan Joy made sure the 'joy' of the whole trek is not taken away in the face of exhaustion and challenges we faced. I must say that is a heck of organizing skills and made us feel that we are in the hands of very accommodating but no nonsense guides. So will I go back to Nepal again. Hell Yes! Highly recommend Himalayan Joy.
Could not have been more happy about my trip in Nepal organised by Himalayan Joy and would highly recommend them for any treks in Nepal. Extremely professional, very accommodating and above all putting your safety first. In the 14 days trekking in the gokyo valley, EBC and Island Peak, not once we had an issue. Our guide was very knowledge and always happy to share and answer our questions. Him and his team were always in a high spirit and good mood which made the trip even more pleasant. We finish our trek with the Island Peak ascent and he had hired some highly qualified peak guide who had climber several times Everest. We felt in very good hands as they put out security (and comfort) first. It was a seamless organisation in places where so many factors could alter your trip. Highly recommend using Himalayan Joy.

Great EBC experience
The sight of the mountains were just awesome.Trekking to EBC was a great experience. Our group was challenged both mentally and physically. The altitude and chill were all there for us to endure. The trip was made even more memorable by Himalayan Joy with their ever helpful and accommodating guide, Cholendra and the porters.
