It was the first time I went for trekking and I had to say it wasn't easy. Lucky cholendra was with me! He was very patient and even took my bag when I couldn't make it. Always very encouraging and always helpful. He even changed the itinerary for us which turned out to be better as one of our friends was sick. He has been very sweet and took his time out just to bring us for a sumptuous dinner and to a shop to buy genuine cashmere shawls after trekking trip.. this was done voluntarily and we couldn't been more happy.. Will go back to them again for the next trekking trip:)

We hired Himalayan Joy for our Island Peak (6189m high) climb and our trek around Everest. I have done many trips but this one stands above others in three ways. The organization was flawless, safety was always paramount, and the expertise of all the people we came in contact with was evident.

From our first day in Nepal, we were taken in charge by the Himalayan Joy team and nothing went wrong. The drivers were where they were supposed to be for our city tours, the lodges were ready when we got there, the quality of all accommodations and meals were as expected.

Several times during our trip, we got overzealous and tried to pack in more than we should. Our guides were very accommodating unless they thought it was not safe in which case they did not let us go ahead. This is very important on a trip like the one we did because we don't know the region like they do.

The staff was truly extremely experienced. This was most evident on our island peak climb. Our two climbing guides have a combined 12 Everest summits under their belts. They adjusted the speed of the climb to our capabilities and gave us plenty of time to adjust and take pictures. This made for an unforgettable experience.

Himalayan Joy was founded by a former porter. He rose through the ranks to become an assistant guide, a guide, and now a company owner. This made our trip more rewarding because we supported a local business that in turn respects the staff it employes because the owner has been there.

All in all. Thank you Himalayan Joy for an amazing trek.

We used Himalayan Joy Adventure for our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking. We are very happy about their service. Their price is reasonable and our guide Bikram who happens to be the owner's nephew is very friendly and well known to the locality. We recommend there service to fellow travelers.

I had met Cholendra 5 years earlier on Manaslu and it was clear to me if I would return to the Himalaya's then only with HJA. I went with Rajendra to the Solu/Kumbu region. Even though certain circumstances did not allow the trip we initially intended to do, Rajendra did at every moment his best to make me feel comfortable. I had wonderful 21 days with a very good companion and guide. Thanks again.

Cholendra is a knowledgeable and capable guide, but perhaps most importantly he's a great guy. He and his team of porters (kedar and kila) quickly became more like very knowledgable friends trekking with out group of four than merely guides there to perform a service. I would absolutely trek again with them in the future and recommend them to friends of mine.
