I did a short trek to Ghorepani - Poonhill. It was a last minute decision on my part. I contacted Cholendra and told me about my plans and he made all the arrangements on very short notice. Everything was ready when I arrived. Himalayan Joy always book the best hotels and don’t cut corners. They took very good care of me. Their Guide, Tika is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Overall I enjoyed my trip tremendously. This is my second trip with them. The first was to Everest Base Camp before the pandemic. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Just came back from an amazing and most challenging Three Passes Trek. The trek well organized by Himalaya Joy Adventure with the help of Tika, an excellent guide and our nice porter Kaila. This our third trek with this company which we very recommend.

Mera Peak Adventure
It was a group of 4 who decided to embark on this adventure up Mt. Mera. Cholendra who was the main coordinator was very thorough in ensuring all arrangements were made - from insurances to our gear. We had a great team - TikaRai as our guide, 2 porters (Poorna and Panam), and Tenji Sherpa as our climbing guide. All of them were so friendly and ever ready to go the extra mile for us.
We had a few things not go to plan in the beginning. Our initial flight was cancelled, then the next day it was delayed, our original route was closed due to snow and we had to go the long way... but through all this, we were reassured and alternative plans were made without no fuss on our end.
The trek was so enjoyable with breathtaking sceneries (literally breathtaking too), good food and delightful company. My wife had gone with Cholendra’s team before and she spoke highly of his team - and I can see why now.
On our way to high camp at 5700m, we had bad weather (strong winds and extreme cold). My wife could not take the cold and needed to turn back. She was not in good shape and needed help getting back. The entire team pulled together and carried her down safety. They constantly made sure she was okay. Upon reaching basecamp, she got oxygen and whatever help she needed. The next day, we got a helicopter out to Kathmandu. This was necessary due to her clinical condition.
I am eternally grateful to the team for their excellent management and professionalism. It was unfortunate that we had bad weather and when we got back to Kathmandu were shell shocked by the pandemic that got the ‘world’ on lockdown. We left Nepal immediately back home and Cholendra made all the arrangements needed.
I hope to return to Nepal one day for another adventure, hopefully this time with less drama in it. And without question I would go with HIMALAYAN Joy.

Village experience + volunteering at Basa (2.5 weeks)
This was probably the most "enlightening" 2 weeks of my life.
I met Cholendra when my family and I did the Annapurna circuit 2+ years ago and I was up for more. So this time round I wanted to summit Mera Peak, but before that to do some volunteering work and get a taste of village life.
As a doctor I wanted to explore healthcare/education in a Nepalese setting, and so Cholendra had made arrangements for me to stay in Basa ; village in the mountains with his parents and work in a healthpost and school there.
After a 15 hour jeep ride from Kathmandu, I was finally in Basa. I was greeted by Cholendra's parents, Mr and Mrs Bahadur Karki who were the most generous and loving hosts you would ever have. Throughout the stay they were so warm, kind and made sure I was comfortable however they could. I stayed in a very clean room, with plenty of blankets to keep warm for it got pretty cold at night.
It was a simple way of life - food, work, people. I tried to live their life - ate what they ate, went to the fields, dug up potatoes, fed the goats,building a cowshed, helped the villagers paint their community hall, cooked with aunty... It was such fun!
The people led simple lives and were happy in the hearts. It redefined the meaning of sharing and happiness. It made me question aspects of my own life...
I spent a few days at the health post and the remainder time at the local school. For 1.5 weeks - I was running English based games/programmes with children of different ages. In that period of time they improved their vocabulary and confidence speaking English. I had objectively measured this and came up with some recommendations which I shared with the teaching faculty.
It was a great time I had and has made me a more humble human being. Personally, I feel that people should experience this life and use it to reevaluate their own lives, do social work and contribute back to society. This being said, the " village experience" should NOT be commercialised like others I have seen for it will change the entire setting and significance of it.

EBC Trek
We just came back after accomplished this amazing trek which organized by Himalayan Joy Adventure. Everything was perfect thanks to Mr. Cholendra and his staff. This was our second experience with Himalayan Joy and we very much recommended.

My Memorable Kailash Yatra 2019
This Kailash Yatra was Organised by Mr.Cholendra from Nepal and this is my third trip to Nepal . All my yatras were organised by HIMALAYAN JOY ADVENTURE group.Specially this MT KAILASH TRIP as all of know its not a easy yatra to do. But our guides Tika ,Kedar ,Kumar ,Takshi,and few others from Tibet were so great souls.With devine power in them they made this tour possible for us. With gods help and with great experienced people like cholendra and group we had the most wonderful yatra.I take this opportunity to thank MY BROTHER MR NAVA and all in our group who made this yatra possible for us. Memorable Yatra to Mount Kailash
I and a group of 15 adults (men and women) of mostly aged 50 and above entrusted ourselves with Cholendra and his assistants for a 18 day Mount Kailash Yatra. With love, care, knowledge and assistance beyond their normal duties Cholendra and his team ensured all 16 of us completed the Yatra. Moments of despair among us were put to rest or resolved by Cholendra and his able and trusted team always with captivating smiles, jokes and relevant advice or suggestions. Cholendra's well chosen and friendly Tibetan guide, Tashi was likewise a bundle of energy always attending admirably to the smallest of needs. I, the oldest at 69 years had a pleasant and memorable Yatra. I would highly recommend them for their tours.
