    Cholendra Bahahdur Karki

    Born and brought up at Basa village in Solukhumbu district of the Everest region, Cholendra Bahadur Karki grew up walking on the terrains of Himalayas. Building a deeper connection with the mountains and nature he learned the basics of hiking from his early childhood after working with his father as the porter. After graduating from Saraswati Multiple Campus he first started as an assistant guide and took part in the trekking and climbing adventures. Then he gradually started working as the trekking/tour guide. And, now with 16 years of experience in the field of trekking and climbing tours in Nepal, Tibet as well as Bhutan, he is the managing director of Himalayan Joy Adventure. Through his leadership in the company, since 2010, he has been constantly working to meet the travel demands of various travelers from all around the world. His main concern is to provide the travelers/trekkers with the utmost comfort, the pleasures, and adventures of traveling at the same time.

    Apart from trekking, he also is an active business person and is the Director of Sampada Garden Hotel in Lazimpat, Kathmandu since 2016, providing the best services for food and accommodations to the customers. Not just in business he also is actively working in the social sector to bring changes in the lives of the local people from the rural area of Nepal and help uplift their socio-economic condition, through his Non-profit organization- Aid for Nepal.

    Recognizing his steadfast dedication to the trekking sector, Cholendra was elected as the First Vice-President during the 41st Annual General Meeting and association election of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) on September 6, 2019. He conscientiously fulfilled this role from 2019 to 2022, actively participating in and contributing to the initiatives and responsibilities of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN).

    Krishna Bahadur Karki

    Krishna Bahadur Karki is a passionate and energetic trekking guide from Solukhumbu district in Nepal. He grew up and completed his schooling in his hometown before moving to Kathmandu for higher education. While attending college, he began working part-time as a trekking guide. Over time, his passion for trekking grew, and he decided to focus entirely on the tourism industry. With years of experience, he has become a skilled and knowledgeable trekking guide in Nepal.

    Krishna is well-versed in the trekking routes of Nepal, having completed nearly all major trails, including the Annapurna Circuit, Everest Base Camp, Manaslu Circuit, and Langtang Valley treks.

    He has been working as a trekking guide with Himalayan Joy Adventure since 2020.

    Trekking Cook and Guide

    Kumar Karki

    Kumar Karki, a prominent figure in Nepal's trekking industry, hails from Solukhumbu. He grew up and completed his education in his home village, where he nurtured an early passion for the tourism sector. After finishing school, Kumar moved to Kathmandu and began his career as a porter.

    Over the years, Kumar gained extensive experience and insight into the trekking field while working as a porter. He gradually advanced to positions such as assistant guide and assistant cook. In 2006, as trekking trends shifted from camping treks to tea-house treks, he embraced the opportunity to become a full-fledged trekking guide. Today, Kumar is recognized for his expertise and outstanding service on numerous trekking routes throughout Nepal, consistently earning high praise from his clients. Alongside guiding, he is also a talented trekking cook.

    Since 2016, Kumar has been serving as both a trekking guide and cook with Himalayan Joy Adventure, showcasing his multifaceted skills and dedication to ensuring memorable experiences for his guests.

    Trekking Assistant Guide in Nepal

    Jon Rai

    Jon Rai is a young man from the lower Everest region of Nepal. He currently resides in his village while pursuing his college education. A nature enthusiast since childhood, Jon has developed a deep passion for photography. Alongside his studies, he works in the trekking industry as an assistant guide, aspiring to become a full-fledged trekking guide in the near future.

    Jon specializes in treks within the Everest region, including iconic routes like Everest Base Camp, the Three Passes, and Gokyo Valley. Since 2023, he has been working as a trekking assistant guide with Himalayan Joy Adventure Pvt. Ltd., gaining valuable experience and contributing to unforgettable journeys for trekkers.

    Purna Karki

    Purna Karki was born and raised in a small village in the Solukhumbu district of Nepal. From an early age, he was fascinated by trekking. During his childhood walks from his hometown to Lukla market, he often encountered tourists along the way, sparking his dream of joining them on their treks.

    His first trekking experience was as a porter, accompanying a friend from Lukla. That journey was an eye-opener; he thoroughly enjoyed exploring high-altitude places and seeing the majestic mountains up close for the first time. Inspired by this experience, Purna decided to pursue a career in the trekking industry.

    Currently, he works as a Trekking guide and has been with Himalayan Joy Adventure since 2022. Known for his cheerful demeanor, ever-present smile, and helpful nature, Purna has become a valued team member. He worked very hard to achieve trekking guide license.

  • Pasang Furi Sherpa
    Trekking cook and Climbing Guide

    Pasang Furi Sherpa

    Pasang Furi Sherpa is originally from the Solukhumbu district of Nepal. He spent his childhood in a village in the lower Everest region of Solukhumbu. In his early years, he moved to Kathmandu in search of better job opportunities, but securing a job at that time was not easy. His journey began in the tourism industry in 1996 when he started working as a porter. At that time, trekking involved camping, and over time, he became more involved in the trekking field. As a porter, he had the opportunity to trek in various regions. After a few years, he advanced to the role of assistant cook and later became an assistant guide (also known as a Sherpa) in trekking.

    Through hard work, dedication, and honesty, Pasang F. Sherpa eventually became a successful climbing guide and trekking cook. Since 2018, he has been working with Himalayan Joy Adventure, where his expertise in guiding and cooking has consistently resulted in fully satisfied guests.

    Nima Tamang

    Nima Tamang is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc.CSIT) at Tribhuvan University in Nepal. He works as a website and content analyst at Himalayan Joy Adventure Pvt. Ltd, where he focuses on developing and managing content strategies for the company website. He also handles the technical aspects of the website, including maintenance and implementing SEO practices to improve visibility. 

    He is committed to analyzing market trends and creating engaging, informative content to ensure a meaningful user experience. Outside of work, he enjoys doing fitness activities, reading motivational books, and volunteering for community service initiatives.

    Tika Bahadur Rai

    Tika Bahadur Rai raised in the Solokhumbu region, the early years of childhood were spent amidst its natural surroundings. Fostering a deep connection with nature, he developed a profound interest and love for the environment. In his youth, he gained diverse work experience, serving as a porter, cook, assistant guide, and contributing as a member in the field of tourism.

    Having successfully obtained a master's degree(M.A.) in sociology from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, he has been a government license holder professional trekking guide since 2007. Currently affiliated with Himalayan Joy Adventure, he is dedicated to ensuring the satisfaction of both tourists and travelers. With a passion for nature and adventure, his top priority is to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for those under his guidance. His inherent friendliness and extensive knowledge effortlessly contribute to fostering a warm atmosphere within his group during tours and treks.

    Possessing substantial expertise as a trekking guide, he has covered diverse regions, including Everest, Annapurna, Mustang, Kanchenjunga, Dolpo, Manaslu, Tibet, and continues to actively explore new destinations in the future.

    Tenji Sherpa

    Hailing from the Mera Peak region in Solukhumbu, Mr. Tenjin Sherpa has been an integral part of Himalayan Joy Adventure since 2014, serving as a senior climbing leader. However, his leadership journey extends back to 2006, during which he led groups on various mountains. Holding the position of expedition leader, he has guided teams on numerous peaks across Nepal.

    Despite his extensive experience with different peaks, Tenjin, as the owner of a hotel at Mera Base Camp, now leads our groups specifically to Mera Peak. For those seeking an adventurous experience with Tenjin and Himalayan Joy Adventure, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
